PGI Display Operator Course – Traverse City, Michigan
American Fireworks Company is proud to sponsor a PGI Display Operator Course (DOC) at the International Fireworks Championship on Saturday, September 12, 2026, in Traverse City, Michigan!
This full-day course combines classroom instruction with hands-on live-fire training and is a great opportunity for anyone looking to expand their pyrotechnic knowledge, work toward PGI Display Operator certification, or meet training requirements for purchasing qualifying 1.4G professional-use (1.4 Pro) fireworks.
Course Details

- Time: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Location: Turtle Creek Stadium, 333 Stadium Drive, Traverse City, MI 49685
- Cost: $99 per student
- Class Size: Limited to 100 students

- Included: PGI textbook and lunch
What to Bring
Students must bring proper PPE, including:
- Cotton clothing with long sleeves
- Closed-toed shoes
- Hard hat
- Safety glasses
- Hearing protection
- Pen for notes and the exam
Important Course Information
The live-fire portion will take place approximately 20 minutes from Turtle Creek Stadium, and the class will conclude at that location. Parking is limited, so carpooling is strongly encouraged.
*Course registration does not include admission to the International Fireworks Championship that evening. Show tickets must be purchased separately.*
Completion of this course can help satisfy training requirements for purchasing qualifying 1.4 Pro fireworks from American Wholesale Fireworks. All applicable purchasing and legal requirements still apply.
