The festival is designed to be a full evening of fireworks, entertainment, food, and community while showcasing some of the most creative pyrotechnic talent in the region.

What to Expect

The Lone Star Fireworks Festival is much more than a traditional fireworks show.

Attendees can experience:

  • Seven or more professional pyrotechnic shows
  • Choreographed pyromusicals synchronized to music
  • Large-shell demonstrations
  • Rare aerial shells reaching up to 16 inches in diameter
  • Close-proximity pyrotechnic effects
  • Massive fireballs and flame effects
  • Drone displays
  • Live entertainment
  • Food trucks and concessions
  • A family-friendly festival atmosphere

The event gives pyrotechnicians the opportunity to showcase their creativity, technical skills, and show design on a scale that most spectators rarely get to experience.

Professional Pyromusicals & Massive Fireworks

One of the biggest highlights of the Lone Star Fireworks Festival is its lineup of professionally designed fireworks displays.

Pyrotechnicians combine music, choreography, firing technology, aerial effects, color, timing, and special effects to create enormous pyromusicals across the Texas sky.

Spectators can also experience large-caliber shells and specialty effects that go far beyond the scale of a typical community fireworks display.

For serious fireworks enthusiasts, this is an opportunity to see just how creative and ambitious professional pyrotechnics can become.

Fireballs, Flame Effects & Drone Displays

The entertainment isn't limited to aerial fireworks.

The festival is known for incorporating additional effects such as:

  • Immersive flame effects
  • Massive fireballs
  • Close-proximity pyrotechnics
  • Ground effects
  • Modern drone displays

Together, these elements help create a full-scale entertainment experience built around fireworks, technology, creativity, and spectacle.

Fireworks With a Purpose

What makes the Lone Star Fireworks Festival especially meaningful is its mission.

100% of net proceeds from the event are donated to the Sherwood and Myrtie Foster’s Home for Children in Stephenville, Texas.

The children, house parents, and staff from the Foster’s Home aren't simply beneficiaries of the event — they are invited to be part of the experience.

As honored VIP guests, they receive a complimentary dinner and may even have opportunities to participate with members of the pyrotechnics community by experiencing aspects of firing effects and learning more about how fireworks displays come together.

It's a celebration built around community, creativity, compassion, and PYRO.

Supporting the Sherwood and Myrtie Foster’s Home

The festival's commitment to giving back has been part of its identity from the beginning.

By 2024, the Lone Star Fireworks Festival had raised more than $122,000 for the Foster’s Home for Children, including a record-breaking $46,700 in 2024 alone.

That same year, the event welcomed an estimated 6,000+ attendees, demonstrating just how much the festival has grown since its early days.

The History of the Lone Star Fireworks Festival

The Lone Star Fireworks Festival began in 2018 as a small gathering of pyrotechnic enthusiasts with a desire to combine their passion for fireworks with a meaningful cause.

From the beginning, admission proceeds were dedicated to supporting the Sherwood and Myrtie Foster’s Home for Children.

In 2021, a group of passionate pyrotechnicians from across Texas came together with a larger vision for the event. With support from the Stasey family, Stasey Field on the B Bar S Ranch became the festival's home.

As attendance continued to grow, the event expanded.

In 2022, the festival added a free Friday night demonstration featuring sponsoring fireworks companies and the Blind Pyro Competition. The main Saturday event also moved to a larger area on the ranch to accommodate the growing crowd.

Today, the Lone Star Fireworks Festival has become a major gathering for pyrotechnicians, families, fireworks enthusiasts, sponsors, and members of the local community.

A Festival Powered by the Pyro Community

The event is made possible through the support of:

  • Local businesses
  • Fireworks manufacturers and suppliers
  • Pyrotechnic companies
  • Industry organizations
  • Individual fireworks enthusiasts
  • Event sponsors and volunteers

Organizers work to keep event costs as low as possible so that more of the money raised can directly support the Foster’s Home.

The festival operates under Stasey Field, Inc., a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, allowing qualifying sponsorships to serve as tax-deductible charitable contributions.

Family-Friendly Fireworks Experience

The Lone Star Fireworks Festival is designed for the entire family.

Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets for open lawn seating and settle in for an evening under the Texas sky.

Guests may also bring coolers, snacks, and drinks, although glass bottles are not permitted.

Because of the scale and sound of the pyrotechnics, pets should be left at home.

A light jacket is also a good idea for the cooler late-October evening temperatures.
