On Saturday, October 10, 2026, Hatbox Event Park in Muskogee, Oklahoma will come alive as talented pyrotechnic teams from across the country battle for the title of Sooner SkyFire Showdown Champion.
This isn’t your average fireworks show. The competing teams will present professionally choreographed pyromusicals, where every launch, burst, color, and effect is precisely synchronized to music. Best of all, admission is FREE to the public!

The heart of the Sooner SkyFire Showdown is an exciting three-team pyromusical competition.
Three talented pyrotechnic teams will go head-to-head, bringing their best designs and performances to Oklahoma in pursuit of the championship trophy and bragging rights as the Sooner SkyFire Showdown Champion.
These are much more than traditional fireworks displays. Each competing show is a tightly scripted pyromusical, with fireworks carefully selected and precisely timed to accompanying audio tracks.
Every effect becomes part of the music—from subtle accents and perfectly timed comets to enormous aerial bursts and spectacular finales.
More Than a Fireworks Competition
The competition may be the centerpiece, but there will be even more to see throughout the evening.
Expect an incredible assortment of pyrotechnic entertainment, including a special National Anthem fireworks display, exhibition display shells, massive exhibition fuel mines, drone light show entertainment, specialty pyrotechnic effects, and three championship-caliber pyromusicals.
It’s a night built for everyone from lifelong pyrotechnic enthusiasts to families experiencing a professional pyromusical for the first time.

Attendees will have the opportunity to purchase raffle tickets on-site for a chance to safely “push the button” on a remote firing system and ignite one of the event’s incredible exhibition fuel mines.
Few experiences compare to standing safely at a distance, pressing the firing button, and watching an enormous fireball erupt into the sky.

Pyromusicals transform fireworks into an entirely different type of entertainment.
Instead of simply launching fireworks one after another, professional show designers choreograph individual effects around a soundtrack. Colors, heights, firing positions, timing, patterns, and intensity are carefully selected to complement the music.
The result is a performance where music and fireworks become one show.

The Story Behind Sooner SkyFire Showdown
The Sooner SkyFire Showdown was created through a collaboration between the Oklahoma Pyrotechnics Club and Red Beards Towing with a mission to bring the pyrotechnic community together in Oklahoma and give the public an opportunity to experience the skill, creativity, and artistry behind professional fireworks displays.
Events like these throughout the country have grown into major gatherings that bring thousands of spectators and pyrotechnic enthusiasts together.
Sooner SkyFire Showdown aims to build that same tradition in Oklahoma.
With the continued support of sponsors, competitors, volunteers, and the surrounding community, the goal is simple: make the Sooner SkyFire Showdown bigger and better every year.
